Some visits don't need a drive. When a video visit is the right way to see you, we can do that — and when your care needs to happen in the room, we will tell you plainly.
01 · The short version
Some visits don't need a drive
A telehealth visit is an appointment with your provider held over video instead of in the office. You talk, they listen, and you leave with a plan — the same as any other visit, just from where you are.
For a lot of people that is the difference between keeping an appointment and putting it off. If driving is hard, if someone has to take time off work to bring you, or if you are far from Clearwater, say so when you call. We will tell you whether your visit can be done by video.
- No drive, no parking, no waiting room. You join from home, from a family member's house, or from anywhere quiet and private.
- Family can be in the room with you. A spouse, an adult child, or a caregiver can sit beside you and help you remember what was said.
- The same providers, the same chart. A telehealth visit is with our own team, and what happens in it is written in the same record as your office visits.
02 · A good fit
What telehealth works well for
Video is a good way to handle the parts of your care that are mostly conversation — checking how a treatment is going, adjusting it, and talking through what a test showed.
- Follow-up visits — checking in after a plan has been started, and deciding together what to do next.
- Medication management — how a medicine is working, side effects you have noticed, and whether anything needs to change.
- Reviewing test results — going through what a test showed, in plain words, with time to ask questions.
- Wellness check-ins — following up on a wellness plan between office visits.
- Visits where a caregiver helps — when memory is the concern, having the person who notices the day-to-day changes on the call is useful.

03 · In the office
What has to happen here
Some care cannot be delivered over video, and we would rather say so now than have you find out on the day. These are done at our Clearwater office.
- Your first neurological examination. A neurological examination means the provider checks your strength, sensation, reflexes, balance, and coordination by hand. That has to be done in person.
- EEG. An EEG records the electrical activity of your brain through small discs placed on your scalp. How an EEG works
- Transcranial Doppler. A transcranial Doppler uses sound waves to measure blood flow in the arteries inside your head. How a transcranial Doppler works
- In-office cognitive testing. Cognitive testing looks at memory, attention, language, and thinking speed in a structured way. How cognitive testing works
- IV therapy. Fluids given into a vein have to be started and supervised by a clinician in the office. About IV therapy

04 · How it works
Four steps, and none of them are complicated
If you have never had a video visit before, this is the whole thing. If you get stuck at any point, call us and a member of our team will walk you through it.
You book the visit
Call (727) 210-7699 or send a request. Tell us you would like a video visit, and we will let you know if it is a good fit for what you need.
You get a link
Before your appointment you will receive a link that opens your visit. Visits are held on a secure platform. You do not need any special equipment.
You check your device
You will need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a reliable internet connection. Open the link a few minutes early so there is time to sort out sound or picture.
You have your visit
Your provider joins, you talk it through, and you leave with a plan. If something needs to be done in the office, we book that before the visit ends.
Have your medicine bottles nearby, along with anything you have written down about what you have noticed. Find a quiet, private spot with decent light, and bring a family member if you would like one there. See what to bring to a visit.
05 · Where we can see you
You need to be in Florida
We offer telehealth visits for patients who are physically located in Florida at the time of the visit. That is where you are sitting during the appointment, not where you live or where your mail goes. If you spend part of the year somewhere else, call us before you travel and we will help you plan your visits.
Our office is in Clearwater, and telehealth widens who we can reach — Safety Harbor, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Oldsmar, Largo, Tarpon Springs, and across Pinellas County and Tampa Bay.
Some plans cover a video visit the same way they cover an office visit, and some do not. Please check with your plan, or call us at (727) 210-7699 and we will check your benefits with you before your appointment.
Do not use this website for a medical emergency. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Symptoms of a stroke — sudden weakness or numbness, trouble speaking, or a sudden severe headache — are an emergency. This form and our phone line are not monitored around the clock.
